Yavatmal, Gokul Municipal School, 19August : On 15 August, last week, students gathered on the school ground at 7:30 a.m. The march past began at 7:45 a.m. The chief guest, our school's ex-headmistress, sheiladevi, had already arrived. She hoisted the flag at 8 a.m. - The entire parade saluted the flag and sang the 'Jana Gana Mana' This was followed by parades by the scouts and girl guides. Then the chief guest addressed the gathering. In her speech she said, "You have kept up the traditions of this school. In fact, you have may not only this school, but the whole of India proud. I congratulate all of you and specially your headmaster on this occasion. " Her speech was received with grand applause. Then long with our headmaster, she planted more sapling in plot specially prepared for the occasion. Everyone then sang the 'Vande Mataram' This was followed by the distribution of sweets.
